Bears Unveil New-Look-Like-Shit Offense
BOURBONNAIS, IL—The Chicago Bears put on a display of inaccurate passing, sluggish route running, and careless ball-handling Wednesday as the team exhibited their new-look-like-shit offense to fans and media attending training camp to view a full-squad practice. "We finally have the personnel to implement a game plan of high-percentage incomplete passes, completed passes of four yards or less, and a rushing attack that lets us lose control of the game clock with complex plays that take forever to develop and generate negative yardage," offensive coordinator Ron Turner said, explaining why the Bears abandoned the "West-Coast-My-Fat-Ass" offense they ran last year. "I'm confident that both Rex Grossman and Kyle Orton possess the ability to overthrow a receiver on a deep fly pattern or find an open defender and deliver the ball with laser-like precision, so we'll be switching between them often and at random intervals to avoid either one getting into a rhythm or developing any confidence." According to Turner, the offense is starting to malfunction as a cohesive unit and has shown much more consistency at blowing assignments, missing blocks, and fumbling snaps.

What I Did Tonight
He was at EAA in Oshkosh introducing "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" at the Fly-In Theater. He is the Chairman of the Young Eagles program and comes almost yearly.
I did not get to meet him - we bugged out as soon as he finished his brief talk.
Hopefully, it'll be Gary Sinise (and maybe John Travolta) on Friday. :D
(I apologize for the quality. It was just after sunset and this is the best my camera did. I was taking pictures of the screen because they were clearer than trying to take pictures of Harrison.)

I Admit
Every time that Pepsi Max commercial comes on, I bop my head like this.
In fact, every time I heard the song, I pull a Butabi.

Stolen From Rachel
You Are a Prophet Soul |
You are a gentle soul, with good intentions toward everyone. Selfless and kind, you have great faith in people. Sometimes this faith can lead to disappointment in the long run. No matter what, you deal with everything in a calm and balanced way. You are a good interpreter, very sensitive, intuitive, caring, and gentle. Concerned about the world, you are good at predicting people's feelings. A seeker of wisdom, you are a life long learner looking for purpose and meaning. You are a great thinker and communicator, but not necessarily a doer. Souls you are most compatible with: Bright Star Soul and Dreaming Soul |

Batman, The Joker and ABBA
I saw two fantastic movies this weekend.
Last night, I saw The Dark Knight and it lived up to all the hype and even surpassed it. Heath Ledger was every bit as amazing as all the reviews have said. By far the best part of a movie full of all kinds of awesome. Christian Bale was great, Michael Caine was superb, Gary Oldman rocked the screen and Morgan Freeman was incredible, as always. For me, the two weakest links were Aaron Eckhart, and I still thought he did a great job, and Maggie Gyllenhaal, but only because the character of Rachel Dawes was poorly written. She did the best with what she was given. I highly recommend it and I can't wait to go see it again.
For a complete and utter change of pace, I went and saw Mamma Mia! this afternoon and I absolutely ADORED it! Oh my god, it's a fun movie! It's by no mean a great movie, and it's utterly cheesy and campy, but it's so much fun and so very entertaining. I also happen to love ABBA, so I had a hard time sitting still because I wanted to get up and dance. Meryl Streep never ceases to amaze me, and you can tell that she had a lot of fun with the movie. Christine Baranski and Julie Walters totally stole the show - they were hysterical! If you're in the mood for a fun time, GO SEE THIS MOVIE!
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a date with my ABBA CD.

Glasses
So I went and spent nearly $300 on new glasses after work today. But, I got a lot for that $300, and I have 6 months to pay it back.
I got myself a swanky new pair of frames (Versace! Which, to this day, I can not look at without thinking of "Showgirls" and her calling it Ver-sayse) and lenses AND my first pair of prescription sunglasses (Ralph Lauren, no less), plus some cleaning supplies. They'll be ready to pick up on Thursday. My prescription changed a little bit, so I'll have them just in time to go see The Dark Knight. :D
Of course, I was at Pearle Vision for about 2 hours, but most of the time was trying to figure out the best way to bill it in order to get me the best deal (my glasses were billed through my insurance, giving me $225 off them, and then I paid for my sun glasses outright, because I got them for 50% that way), but I ended up saving $450, so it was worth the time. :)
I leave you with the beginning of what I think is Johnny's best role to date. If you haven't seen it, you really must check it out.

Take A Minute
On our nation's birthday, please take a few minutes and remember our troops that are stationed over seas fighting for our freedom. You don't have to agree with the war or support the administration behind it, but that doesn't mean we don't support the troops.
This site allows you to pick a postcard and saying and it will be sent to the troops overseas. It takes less than two minutes, it doesn't cost anything and you don't have to give them any personal information (Other than your name and hometown).
Happy Birthday, America. Happy 4th of July, my friends. And to all our troops, Thank You and come back safe!

Karma?
So, I'm guessing because I called the cops on the asshats behind me setting off fireworks, now I've got it coming from both behind me and down the street.
I hate most people.

I Want One
So, we've been slow at work this week and I've been taking DVDs to watch. I finished up Season 3 of Jump Street yesterday and didn't want to start up Season 4 just yet. I grabbed two movies and made the mistake of bringing this one.
*hummina hummina hummina*
*fans self*
Can someone tell me where I can find one of those?

He is adorable.

What's My Favorite?
So, in my post below, I posted a video of one of my all-time favorite songs. I KNOW you're wondering what my All-Time Favorite Song is.
That's easy.
21 years later, the fucker still gives me goosebumps. And my friend Brooke's dad was about six blocks away when they filmed this.
I LOVE THIS SONG!

FEMA rocks and People Suck
So yesterday, FEMA deposited money into my bank account. The inspector came on Friday, and the money was there yesterday morning. Of course, it wasn't enough to cover all the damages, but it's enough to cover probably half my furnace. It was an odd dollar amount, so I can't wait to see how they figured out how much I get. I have my SBA loan paperwork nearly filled out. I have a few more things to add and then I'll take it down to the Disaster center here in Oshkosh and see what they say. I was pleasantly surprised with how fast FEMA was. Too bad the same couldn't be said for the people of New Orleans.
Last night I had to call the cops on some asshats behind me. They were shooting off fireworks, and it was the kind you're NOT supposed to have. Shit flying into the air and exploding and then these HUGE ones that sounded like a bomb being dropped in the backyard. I was actually put on hold when I called the Cop Shop, and when I told the person on the phone where it was he said "Heh, we've already had a call about that location. We've got someone on their way." I hope those fuckers got caught and got a huge fine. My poor Sammy was sleeping and it woke him up - and he doesn't like loud noises, so he was pacing around the living room for the rest of the evening. I ended up having to close my patio door to help muffle the noise, which meant losing out on the nice breeze coming in. I don't get the fascination with fireworks. I can understand the cheap shit - sparklers and ones that set off colored smoke. But to spend that much money on shit that explodes? Give me the money - it'll go to better use than just exploding stuff. People are so stupid.
People fucking suck.
On my way to work today, I heard this song on the radio; it's one of my all-time favorites and made the morning a little nicer. So, sit back, turn on the mood lighting and enjoy.

That's A Wrap!
PE filming has come to an end.
I'm not as sad as I thought I would be, but maybe it's because for me, filming ended a month and a half ago in Columbus. I had my last encounter with Johnny, and I couldn't have asked for a better way to end it. After that, I realized that my part was finished and I was able to let it go back then. Sure, we talked about going to Milwaukee, but came to our senses. We joked about going to Chicago, but realized how utterly silly and selfish that was and didn't. I had already had my moment, why did I need more? Why take up more of Johnny's precious down time for my own benefit? Really, that would be all it would be about. Seeing Johnny one last time. Sure, it's fun to hang out with friends, but I think the friends I've made because of this can hang out together and not be at basecamp and have just as much fun. I didn't need anything more, nor did I feel right taking anything more from Johnny - he's already given me and my friends so much. More than he knows, in fact.
Instead, it's my new friends' turn for their moment. Ones who haven't had it yet, but have been cheering those of us in the midwest on for the entire time. Minxie, it does my cranky heart good to know you got your special moment!
Now that filming has wrapped, I can look back on this whole experience and truly marvel at what I've gained. New friends, ones that I've met and spent time with, and ones that I just know online - I never expected that to happen. I was just looking forward to catching a glimpse of Johnny Depp. I was so excited that I was able to share the meeting with Johnny with my dear friends who drove down (or up) to Oshkosh for their chance. I still smile when I think about that first Monday in Oshkosh, and my friend from Chicago saying "Fuck it, I've put this much time into it, I'm not leaving until he does!" and that final Friday, with a friend deciding last minute to come down and getting her moment. I remember driving around Oshkosh the Thursday before filming began looking for basecamp in a hurricane. Standing outside in the rain at the airport on Friday. Psycho Rory Cochrane girl. Johnny Bopp. Bonding with Eric, Doug, Matt, Nikki, Eric 2 and all the other MPI people.
To all my friends, old and new, thank you for sharing this amazing experience with me. It's been a dream come true and something I never thought would happen. It's been a blessing.
Filming may have wrapped, but our new journeys together have just begun.
