PE News

Source

The July 1, 2009 release date is official.

AND....

I’m told that even though the film is still in the midst of editing, there will be enough cleaned up and pieced together footage for theater preview trailers to be ready for theaters to begin teasing on their big screens in time for the Christmas holiday movie releases.

One Of The Things

One of the things I did on my trip was the one thing I had hoped to be able to do. I'm a pretty big fan of musicals and my all-time favorite is "Phantom of the Opera." I've loved it since I was a teenager - for my 16th birthday, my mom took me to see it in Chicago and even got us box seats. I cried through most of it. :)

I've always wanted to see it on Broadway, and luckily, my two friends also wanted to see it. We stood in the TKTS line last Saturday for over an hour, and were lucky enough to get tickets.

While the performance was not mind-blowing (the three main characters overacted in some parts and Raoul sang way too loud), it was still beautiful and I cried in the same two places. I'm a sobbing mess at the very end - I can't help it, I feel so bad for Phantom. When Christine says she loves him, I lose it every time.

As for the other part, "Music of the Night" is one of my all-time favorite songs, and makes me cry every time I hear it. I don't know why, just that it is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard and it touches me in a place no other song does.

(This is from the movie version with Gerard Butler. I actually prefer his voice over Michael Crawford's (I know, blasphemy) and I loved the movie version. Which, ironically, is on Oxygen right now. Two Saturdays in a row with the Phantom. Life is good.)

Musee D'Orsay, part deux

Sir Jack was so kind as to post a couple of his pictures from the Musee D'Orsay in Paris, so I thought I would post a few of mine.

Whistler's Mother by Jacob McNeill Whistler

Monet is my FAVORITE artist.

I wish I had those hanging in my dining room.

A little Van Gogh.

And some Renoir.

My mom and I stumbled upon the Grand Ballroom quite by accident. What a magnificent room!

I loved this statue.

Such magnificent chandeliers.

Orsay from across the Seine.

So, that's just a few of my pics from Musee D'Orsay. I hope you enjoyed them.

Bonne nuit, mes amis. J'espère que vous avez apprécié mes photographies du Musee D'Orsay. Jusqu' à la prochaine fois !

I'm BAAAAAAAA-ACK!

I survived NYC (barely) and am back safe and sound in the land of Cheese. NYC made Cranky pretty cranky at times and I'll tell y'all about it soon. Until then, this is just about the cutest damn thing I have ever seen.
